He organized the Indian National Army (INA) with the help of these powers, which comprised Indian prisoners of war and civilian volunteers living in Southeast Asia. The INA played a significant role in the fight against the British in Southeast Asia during the war. Bose’s actions during this time remain controversial, as his collaboration with Axis powers led some to criticize his methods. However, many Indians viewed him as a hero who sacrificed much in the fight against British colonialism.
Bose’s fate remains shrouded in mystery. He reportedly died in a plane crash in Taiwan in 1945, though some theories suggest that he may have survived and lived under an assumed identity. Regardless, Subhas Chandra Bose’s legacy as a nationalist leader and his contribution to the Indian independence movement remain deeply influential in Indian history and continue to inspire generations of Indians.
